- March 12 – Alcohol: Passage of the Byrd Liquor Law in Virginia which defined liquor as “all mixtures, preparations and liquids which will produce intoxication” and outlawed any malt drink with an alcohol content greater than 2.25%.
- May 5 – In Charlottesville's democratic primary, E. G. Haden was nominated for mayor over George W. Olivier, the incumbent.[1]
- December 13 – The body of J. Samuel McCue was exhumed from the family burying ground of the McCue’s on the farm, near Brooksville, in the western end of Albemarle County. The old McCue home, on which the original burial took place, was occupied by Harry, the youngest of the McCue brothers. The body of Sam McCue was re-interred in Riverview Cemetery alongside that of his wife, Fannie McCue. J. Samuel McCue was executed on February 10, 1905 for the murder of his wife Fannie in 1904.[2]
