Wegmans is a grocery store that opened on November 6, 2016 as part of the 5th Street Station development. The Charlottesville store is the company's 92nd. [1]
Over 23,000 people visited the store on its opening day. [2] At the beginning of 2017, the store employs 550 people: 200 full time and 350 part time. Prior to opening at the end of 2016, the full-time employees were trained at locations in Richmond and Fredericksburg. [3]
