Connection to Blue Ridge Tunnel
The City of Waynesboro is embarked on a project called the Rockfish Gateway Trail Park to connect Sunset Park to the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Using U.S. Department of Transportation funds from the Eastern Land Program, the city hired Rinker Design Associates for a preliminary trail design. Their work resulted in a three-and-a-half mile trail that would cost up to $15 million to construct. [1]
