WCVL-FM is a Country-formatted broadcast radio station.[3] The station is licensed to Charlottesville, Virginia, serving communities in Albemarle and Fluvanna counties.[1] WCVL-FM is owned by Saga Communications, Inc. and operated under their Tidewater Communications, LLC licensee, doing business as Charlottesville Radio Group.[1]

History

WCVL-FM launched as WUVA-FM, on June 22, 1979, as an Urban Contemporary-formatted station branded as "Kiss FM". WUVA-FM was licensed to the University of Virginia.[4][5] WUVA-FM was sold to Saga Communications, locally known as Charlottesville Radio Group, in 2017 for $1.65 million. [6]
