The University of Virginia Police Department has jurisdiction on University property as well as streets and sidewalks immediately adjacent. The department has a cooperative patrol agreement with the Charlottesville Police Department which extends that jurisdiction into portions of the City of Charlottesville.
The UVa Police Department has over 130 employees, including police officers and support personnel.
