Part of the University of Virginia, the University of Virginia Medical Center provides primary, specialty and emergency care throughout Central Virginia through the UVa Hospital and a network of clinics.

The Medical Center is part of the University of Virginia Health System.

Construction is underway for an additional 425,000 square feet as part of an expansion project that will see new emergency rooms, operating rooms and new hospital beds. [1] The new tower opened early to provide additional beds in response to the COVID-19 Emergency. [2]
