Union Ridge was a community in Albemarle County that centered around the Hydraulic Mills commercial area in the 19th century. The community was centered around the junction of Ivy Creek and the South Fork of the Rivanna River.
The mills there were attacked by Union troops and were damaged in a great flood that happened in 1870.
The land was inundated in the 1960's when the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir was created.
