- 1906 – Carrie Elizabeth Buck was born in Charlottesville; in 1927 she was the plaintiff in the US Supreme Court case Buck v. Bell.
- 1912 – The silent film "Close of the American Revolution" released by Thomas Edison's film company, filmed in Charlottesville and featured Jack Jouett's ride.
- 1971 – Christ Episcopal Church added to National Register of Historic Places.
