Merge to portal

I'd add the merge tag but this page is protected(!?). The wikipedia model for current events makes more sense to me. The portal tells you what's going on right now (you know, it's a portal!). This article doesn't really make sense to me as we don't need to define current events (Current events are...). At any rate, as it is right now, they're redundant, so if we keep 'em both, we need to make a good distinction as to what is what. -- B.S. Lawrence 10:01, 22 June 2009 (EDT)

It looks like I have to create a REDIRECT for this special MediaWiki page. --Bwheeler 16:53, 22 June 2009 (EDT)

Restarting conversation

Keeping this portal up to date is very difficult, and I don't often use this myself. It could be argued this would be a good thing to use if there were many users. I don't update this due to the sheer volume of information I write each week. This would be a good thing to assign someone to do as part of a journalistic curriculum. Today I am going to update the Current Events stuff and would welcome input. --Seantubbs (talk) 09:45, 17 September 2022 (EDT)
