Stony Point

Stony Point is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County that was initially settled in the late 1720's. [1]
History
The region acknowledged as Stony Point includes the historical villages of Proffit and Rosena. The core of Stony Point is comprised of the Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company, Stony Point Elementary School, and several dozen surrounding homes. There is a general store called the Grand Junction.
General George Rogers Clark was born in Stony Point in 1752. [2]
Notable features
Stony Point is the highest point of land between Charlottesville and Barboursville. [1]
