- 1949 – WINA started broadcasting in the Charlottesville area.[1]
- 1955 – Piedmont Airlines begins a fourth flight between the Charlottesville airport and Washington D.C. to meet heavy demand. [2]
- 1960 – Willis O. Carter appears before the Charlottesville Board of Zoning Appeals to ask to build a house on Henry Avenue on a lot with 40 feet of frontage, below the minimum required in the 1958 rezoning. [3]
