- 1900 – Charlottesville City Council hears from a committee that recommends spending $2,500 on a standpipe for Preston Heights to expand municipal water service. [1]

- 1788 – Daniel Maupin Sr. dies and is later buried alongside his wife beneath an old boxwood tree in the Daniel Maupin Cemetery (located adjacent to the Mount Moriah Cemetery). An early inhabitant of Albemarle County, Maupin owned much of the land that later became White Hall and was the progenitor of the area's famous Maupin family.
- 1820 – Isaac Hardin dies and is later buried on his land in Greenwood. Hardin was the first settler to own the land that eventually became Greenwood.
