Rita Smith is a dietitian with Martha Jefferson Hospital whose service was recognized in late 2010 when the Daily Progress named her as one of their "distinguished dozen" for the year. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia who had originally intended to move back to her native Maine, but wound up staying in the area. [1].
