Ridge Street

Ridge Street is a roadway through Charlottesville, connecting Ridge-McIntire Road at its northern end to a residential neighborhood south of downtown, dead-ending in the Brookwood neighborhood.

The road gives its name to the Ridge Street neighborhood and the Ridge Street Architectural Design Control District.

Several family members of Mary Truehart Woodfolk lived on the road throughout the twentieth century.

Bridge

The bridge that crosses the rail-line was upgraded in the 1980's. A Ridge Street Bridge Design Committee helped oversee its design. The design resulted in the closure of Garrett Street to Ridge Street.
