  • 1902Daily Progress features an article on the Reverend Frederick W. Neve which includes an account he wrote of his early missions to the Ragged Mountains and Greene County: "The condition of the poor children appealed to me, and I determined to do something to alter the conditions of things in this neglected community." [1]
  • 1906 – An educational conference at the University of Virginia is held to discuss the teaching of agriculture in secondary schools [2]
  • 1933 – The Daily Progress reports that city officials would meet with the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors to discuss fire protection for homes outside city limits such as Fry's Spring, Meadowbrook Hills, and the southern portion of Belmont. At the time, service could not be provided unless approval came from the Charlottesville Mayor. [3]
  • 1941 – A mantelpiece is returned to Ash Lawn that had been removed 33 years before. [4]
  • 1942 – The public learns of a socio-economic study of the region around Charlottesville including reports for each locality. In addition to the city, the work is to extend to Albemarle, Buckingam, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, and Nelson. [5]
  • 1944 – A finance committee of the Charlottesville City Council makes a statement that the proposed $500,000 bond issue for a dam on the Moormans River would not require additional operational payments by city taxpayers. The bond issue was on the ballot in a December 12 referendum. [6]
  • 2020Albemarle County Planning Commission recommends denial of Breezy Hill rezoning near Glenmore for the second time [7]
