Public service
Gallaway ran unsuccessfully for election to the Albemarle County School Board in November 2009 from the Rio District. He was also one of four finalists selected by the board to serve as a replacement for the at-large seat vacated by Brian Wheeler[4], a position ultimately filled by Harley L. Miles. Gallaway has also served as president of the Dunlora Community Association[citation needed].
He did not seek reelection in 2015. Instead, he ran for the state Senate seat held by Bryce Reeves. [5] He was unsuccessful. [6]
