The project is creating driving trails for people looking to visit studios, craft venues, farms and markets. It will be part of the statewide Artisan Trail Network. [1] Nearly 100 artisans, restaurants and other businesses signed up to participate in the program's first year.

The trail received a Tourism Achievement Award from the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2012. [2]
