MicroAire Surgical Instruments is a manufacturer of precision surgical instruments founded in 1977 in Southern California. [1] The company moved to Albemarle County in 1995 and is headquartered in the University of Virginia Research Park, as of 2011. The company will spend $8 million to expand its facilities by moving into a former post office facility that is located nearby. [2] That will increase the number of jobs to 183 from 132 in 2011.
