Matthew Haas

Matthew Haas is superintendent for Albemarle County Public Schools having served as deputy superintendent under Pam Moran. [1]

The Albemarle County School Board appointed Haas as the division's next superintendent, effective July 1, 2018. He will succeed outgoing superintendent Pam Moran.[2]

Haas was principal at Albemarle High School from 2004 to 2009. He served as an executive director and an assistant superintendent in the division’s central office before becoming deputy superintendent in 2015.[3]

In June 2021, the School Board extended his contract to 2025. [4]
