Lou's Philly Steaks was opened on July 1, 2012 by Lucious "Lou" Craig Renfrow. The restaurant is named for his father. The restaurant's color scheme, gold and purple, although often attributed to James Madison University, is actually in honor of Renfrow's fraternity, Omega Psi Phi.[1]
