Lloyd F. "LF" Wood

Lloyd F. Wood, Jr. (d. 2018), known to his friends as "LF", from the initials of his given name, was a former member of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors from 1968 to 1975. He died on October 11, 2018 at age 82. [1]

Civic career

Wood served on the Board of Supervisors for Albemarle County (1968 to 1975), Chairman for the Board of Zoning Appeals. Board Chairman of the Seminole Volunteer Fire Department. He received the 2012 Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year Award. He served many years as Chief Election Officer.

Work experiences

LF, often known as "Mr. Putt-Putt", owned and operated the Putt-Putt Golf Course for 58 years. Wood built the Putt Putt Golf and storage facility on Rio Road. He is also the brother of developer Wendell Wood.[2] [3]

Family life

LF was born in Earlysville, VA to Lloyd F. Wood and Irma T. Wood. LF was married to Patsy and had three children, seven grandchildren and three great granddaughters. His brothers were Newton Wood and Wendell Wood (developer) and sister Vivian Wood Wade (wife of Randolph D. Wade).

Scholastic education

LF graduated from Lane High School, Mars Hill College, and the University of Richmond.
