Raymond Lee Richards is a former Charlottesville Commissioner of the Revenue. Richards began working in the Office of the City Treasurer in 1974 and later worked at the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue beginning in 1979.[1][2] He was elected to the office 14 years later, in 1993, and announced that he wouldn't seek re-election in 2013. Richards ran unopposed in 2001, 2005, and 2009; earlier records are not available.[3] Richards' salary was $6,500 per year as a clerk and $108,000 in 2013 as Commissioner.[2]
