Laird & Company is a New Jersey-based manufacturer of apple brandy that operates a distillery in North Garden. In 2010, it was believed to have processed over three million apples to produce 350 barrels of apple brandy. [1] [2]
The company came to the region in 1941 when they purchased the Virginia Fruit Distilling Company in North Garden. [3]
At one point, the company looked at the possibility of opening a bottling facility in Scottsville in the factory formerly used by Hyosung. [4]
