Kevin Lynch
Kevin Lynch served two terms on the Charlottesville City Council from 2000 to 2008.
Biography
Lynch was born on June 5, 1962 in Alexandria, Virginia. He came to Charlottesville in 1980 to attend the University of Virginia, where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineeering.
Lynch worked for GE-Fanuc before leaving to become an independent contractor. [1]
Prior to his election, Lynch was a member of the group Townwatch, which formed to oppose efforts to commercialize the Downtown Mall. [citation needed]
Public service
Lynch served as the president of the Federation of Neighborhoods (1998-1999) and president of the Martha Jefferson Neighborhood Association (1996-1997). Lynch was also a founding member of Sensible Transportation Alternatives to the Meadowcreek Parkway. He was also a member of Citizens for a Sustainable Water Plan. [2] [1]
