Kasaundra E. Blount was named as the principal for Burley Middle School beginning with the 2020 school year. She succeeds James Asher, who retired. [1]

Biography
Blount earned a bachelor's in political science at Hampton University and earned a master’s in teaching secondary education from Hampton. She holds a certification in administration and supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is also a doctoral candidate in educational management at Hampton.
Prior to being named as principal at Burley, Blount served as the equity and diversity administrator for Albemarle High School and led the school’s AVID program.
