- 1934 – Albemarle County Attorney John S. Graves files a writ of mandamus to the Virginia Supreme Court seeking the ouster of Treasurer Stuart Hamm. Hamm claimed he was still the elected treasurer and his attorney, Lyttleton Waddell, filed his response. [1]
- 1934 – Elsie Barksdale Ray is shot and killed by a Mrs. William Casey over an alleged affair. [2]
- 2024 – Fred Missel is elected chair of the Albemarle County Planning Commission and Luis Carrazana is elected vice chair. Both serve in top positions related to land use at the University of Virginia. [3]
