- 1907 – Charlottesville City Council meet and award a contract to Glamorgan Pipe and Foundry of Lynchburg for pipes for a waterline and a contract to Boggs and Halstead for construction of a new reservoir dam at Mayo's Rock. Council also banned the selling of livestock on Market Street and Seventh Street. [1]

- 1761 – Allen Howard dies in Albemarle County. Howard was an early inhabitant of the county, having served as one of its original magistrates and being the namesake of Howardsville.
