James F. King Jr ran unsuccessfully for City Council in the 1998 election.[1] He is an at-large board member of the Fry's Spring Neighborhood Association. He and his wife Peggy have lived in Jefferson Park Circle since 1987.[2]

1998 election
During the 1998 campaign, King called upon city officials to demand representation on Albemarle County boards in order to have on development proposals that would affect city neighborhoods. [3] He also called on the state Commission on Local Government to facilitate talks between the city and county. `
