The Holiday Inn University Area and Conference Center opened in 1972 on Emmet Street in Charlottesville. A company called Brick Lane submitted plans in October 2025 to Charlottesville Department of Neighborhood Development Services to convert the structure to a residential one to be known as The Palms.
