Status Update

High Street Jug Handle is one of several projects evaluated in the Eco-Logical Pilot Project - Free Bridge Congestion Relief, a project conducted in the mid 2010's by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission. [1]

Project Overview

"Alternative A‐2, the “Jug Handle”, attempts to reduce congestion at the US250/High Street intersection by removing the left turns from 250 onto High Street. This alternative would see the ‘left turn’ traffic routed through the intersection and back around to River Road via a new road connecƟon located behind CVS and Tractor Supply. The alternative would also include a new signal at Belleview Ave, which would be synced with the High Street/US250 intersection."
