The Arrowood is an apartment complex located off Rio Road. It was developed in a joint venture by GW Real Estate Partners and Griffin Capital Company, with Greystar as the property manager at launch. Construction began in April 2024[1] and the first units were completed in August 2025.[2]
A rezoning from R-6 to PRD to enable the development, originally called Heritage on Rio, was submitted in 2021.[3][4] The rezoning was approved on September 7, 2022.[5][6]
Timeline
- July 12, 2022 – Albemarle Planning Commission recommend approval on a 6-0 vote for the project.[7]
- September 7, 2022 – Albemarle Board of Supervisors unanimously approve the rezoning.[8][9]
