Henry B. Michie was a newspaper editor who owned the Charlottesville Chronicle. He died on March 15, 1895. [1] Michie purchased the Chronicle in 1884 from the Waddell family.

Biography
Michie was a native of Augusta County and the son of Thomas J. Michie, at one point a Commonwealth's Attorney. He trained as a lawyer and practiced law in Staunton before becoming editor of the Spectator in that community.
Michie married a Miss Bedinger, the daughter of a General Bedinger. They had three children including two boys who ran the paper after Michie's deathe. A third son, Thomas J. Michie, practiced law in Baltimore at the time of his death. [1]
