George Maris

George Maris is an educator and behavioral counselor for the prevention of HIV/AIDS.

Maris is the founder of ReachOut, an internet based outreach program that has a mission to educate persons on risk reduction, resources and awareness. He is an ESL volunteer for the Charlottesville City School Center. He is also founder of FreedomWriter Publishing, FWP advocates for persons incarcerated and publishes books for inmates. He started FWP after writing several books himself and became self published. His work for the AIDS/ HIV Services Group was internet based outreach for the MSM community, many of his publications can be read online. A Tree and Its Fruit, a book about Symbolism. Believe, The Children of the Garden, are only a few books that he has published.

Maris grew up in The Bronx and moved to Brooklyn to attend City University of New York, Brooklyn College. He lived in York PA where he had been involved with the Democratic Committee; He helped launch many political careers. He lived in the Frick Mansion, a 10,000 square feet home that was built by architect Charles Dempwolf.
