Edward Allen Cleaton was named as managing editor of the Daily Progress in August 1934 at the age of 30. He succeeded J.H. Irving. [1]

Biography
Cleaton grew up in Richmond and attended William and Mary and the University of Virginia. He began his newspaper career at the Richmond News-Leader before being hired by the Times-Dispatch.
