In February 2020, ENSCO Rail opened a new office in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The office supports the firm's railway research, condition assessment, asset management and cybersecurity business areas.[4]

Railway Track Inspection and Monitoring

ENSCO Rail designs, builds, operates, and delivers world class, turnkey track inspection systems that provide comprehensive performance monitoring. ENSCO Rail has delivered solutions throughout the world to meet the needs of the railway industry. [5]ENSCO Rail track geometry measurement systems have been installed on the majority of Class 1 railways, including Amtrak, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, CSX, and Union Pacific.

Vehicle/Track Interaction

The ENSCO Rail Vehicle/Track Interaction Monitor (V/TI) is an autonomous monitoring system installed on locomotives to assess vehicle and track conditions. The V/TI provides unattended condition-based monitoring of interactions between rail vehicles and track, and identifies potentially dangerous track conditions associated with broken rail, battered joints/frogs, engine burns, track geometry, and ballast/subgrade issues. Data Management

The ENSCO Rail Digital Track Notebook (DTN) is a scalable and economical web-based solution that allows railways to better manage track assets. The system presents complex regulatory scheduling and reporting rules in an intuitive electronic interface that allows for easy implementation. [7] The web-based application to automatically schedules inspections based on federal and railroad-specific schedule requirements, logs inspections and defects electronically, and creates inspection reports for the FRA and Transport Canada. Additionally, DTN allows upper management to create and review performance reports. [8]
