Diantha McKeel won election to the Albemarle Board of Supervisors on November 5, 2013. [1] She became Chair in January 2016 and won re-election in 2017 in an uncontested race. [2] [3]
She previously served four terms as a member of the Albemarle County School Board representing the Jack Jouett Magisterial District. She announced she will seek election to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors and was endorsed by Dennis Rooker. [4]
McKeel won a third term in the 2021 election and faced no opposition. [5] [6] [7]

2013 election for Supervisor
McKeel defeated Phillip Seay in the November 5, 2013 general election. She raised $4,975 in campaign funds in July and August 2013. [11]
Through May 29, 2013, McKeel had raised $19,742 in campaign funds, inluding a $5,000 donation from Rooker's campaign as well as a $5,000 donation from Sonjia Smith. Palmer raised $20,461 in campaign contributions between April and May 29, 2013. [12]
McKeel received the endorsement of the Albemarle County Democratic Committee in September 2013.
