The Charlottesville Housing Foundation is one of two organizations that merged in 1998 to form the Piedmont Housing Alliance. The other is the Thomas Jefferson Housing Improvement Corporation.

- Steppingstone Homes – On July 6, 1992, City Council certified an approval from the Virginia Housing Development Authority to build a multifamily residential development at 315 9th Street SW. [2]
