The two-year term of the Charlottesville City Council (1934-1936) ran from September 1, 1934 to August 31, 1936. The 1934 election resulted in the re-election of Dr. W. Dan Haden and F. W. Twyman. Three member of the council whose terms did not expire this year were Shelton S. Fife, George T. Huff and Samuel A. Jessup.

Organizational meeting

September 1, 1934

At a brief reorganizational meeting of the Council this morning, Dr. W. D. Haden was selected as City Mayor, a position once held by his father, E. G. Haden. Dr. W. Dandridge Haden was elected Mayor of Charlottesville for the next two years. Samuel A. Jessup was chosen Vice-Mayor, which place has been held by Dr. Haden during the mayoralty of Fred W. Twyman. City Manager Seth Burnley; City Auditor James Bowen; City Attorney E. V. Walker and Police Chief Maurice Greaver were all re-elected to their respective posts.

Regular meetings

Regular council meetings were held in City Hall on the second Tuesday of the month.
