Charlottesville Area Alliance

The Charlottesville Area Alliance is an umbrella organization created to boost awareness of senior issues. The group's mission has been endorsed by the City Council and the Board of Supervisors. [1]

The alliance consists in part of JABA, the Senior Center, the Alzheimer’s Association, JAUNT, CvilleVillage, Hospice of the Piedmont, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge.

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program, Albemarle County and Charlottesville all are represented, as well.

Action plan

The alliance is working with the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission on a five-year regional action plan to become an age friendly community. [2]
