Carl Schmitt

Carl Schmitt is a former at-large member of the Greene County Board of Supervisors.

He is a retired Federal Administrator for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering. In 2001, he served on local task forces studying Land Use, Natural Resources, Economic Development and Agriculture. He is a past president and board member of Greene County Ruritan Club, and he was an Associate Director of the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD) from 2005 to 2008.

Schmitt is a former member of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC), the Greene Free Clinic, and the Blue Ridge Foothills Conservancy. Mr. Schmitt founded the Greene County Stream Alert in 2005 to perform local stream monitoring. He was also a Greene County representatives on the Rivanna River Basin Commission (RRBC). [1]
