Brian Wheeler is the communications director of the city of Charlottesville.  He served for over a dozen years as the first executive director of Charlottesville Tomorrow in July 2005. Wheeler has lived in the Charlottesville-Albemarle region since 1984 and represented the community as an elected member of the Albemarle County School Board during January 2004 to August 2010.

From 1998 to 2005, Wheeler served as Chief Information Officer at SNL Financial, a leading provider of data to Wall Street. Prior to that, he was employed at the W. Alton Jones Foundation, a private family foundation that focused on grantmaking supporting environmental and international security projects.
