The Barringer Mansion is one of Charlottesville's individually protected properties, meaning any exterior changes or potential demolition would have to be approved by the Board of Architectural Review. The house is located at 1404 Jefferson Park Avenue. [1]

It was once the home of Paul B. Barringer, the last Chairman of the Faculty of the University of Virginia.[2] It became the University of Virginia's French house in 1985.[2]
