- 2011 – The 5.8-magnitude Louisa quake, centered near Mineral in Louisa County, struck at 1:51:04 p.m. local time. The USGS said tens of millions of people in the eastern U.S. and southeastern Canada felt the Louisa County earthquake and that the it may have been felt by more people that any other U.S. quake. It cracked the Washington Monument.[1]
