Events
- 1954 – Charlottesville voters approved establishment of a Redevelopment and Housing Authority “by a narrow margin of 36 votes in a climax to five years of effort to get a slum clearance and low-rent housing program organized.” The total vote of 2,174 was heavier than usual for a special election in which only one issue was involved. [1]
- 1986 – High Meadows in Albemarle County is listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register [2]
- 2019 – At the regular council meeting, the 2018-2019 City Council voted to approve Tarron Richardson to take over as the next Charlottesville City Manager. Richardson replaces Maurice Jones, who left in July 2018 to become the town manager of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.[3]
