The 1942 election was held on June 9, 1942 for two open seats on the city council, Roscoe S. Adams and Sam A. Morris won without opposition. Outside of the voting places, there were no indication that an election was being held. There were no outside workers. Adams and Morris won the Democratic nominations in the recent primaries and the Republican party made no effort to provide any opposition.
